Johnny and Trish's visit and the 25 pound racoon

Johnny and Trish came to visit from Chicago this weekend and what could have been a very relaxing do nothing day, turned into quite the eventful one. We had a raccoon making a disaster in our garage. Tim and Johnny thought they would leisurely go out there and persuade the raccoon to just make its way out. Well, 4 hours after fighting the bitter cold, the 25 pound raccoon with inch and a half teeth was removed from the garage. Apperently the adrenaline was pumping and Trish and I are happy no trips to the hospital had to be made. I really did think that monster was going to pounce on one of them (particularly Johnny since he had him trapped right above his head for a good hour). Not sure how he got that job!

We had a really nice time catching up and Mack and Jackson made two new friends, Johnny and his mommy, I mean wife!! Thanks for coming guys!

Playing sports!

I had to coach three practices at a middle school today and remembered that the gym is usually unoccupied before practice, so Tim, the kids and I went 45 minutes early with our soccer balls and basketballs and had the whole gym to ourselves. Jackson just ran around and Mackie practiced her mad dribbling skills. It was great! I was pretty bummed I didn't bring my camera, but mark my words...Mack's going to be a pretty awesome little soccer player. She honestly is a great dribbler and would actually listen to me giving her instructions. I was in my glory, I have to admit! I beat Tim on a little one on one basketball too :) He doesn't go easy on the pregnant lady though!

sick in the snow

We were supposed to be at Mike and Regina's this weekend hanging out with their two kids in Midland and visiting Tim's Grandma, but both kids came down with 101 plus fevers. They sure don't seem sick besides little colds, but the fever has come back a few times. Anyway, we can't just keep them cooped up all day, so Tim took them for a little bike ride in the snow.

My Princess

Mackie loves her new dress-up clothes that she got from "mia" and we play with them all the time. People always tell me that 2 and 3 are the hardest ages and well, maybe I'm a bit naive, but I just absolutely love this age. She's so stinkin lovey and playful and hilarious. Yes, she's sassy, but man is she fun! Jackson is just the biggest copy-cat of her and it's very funny. Kids are just fun, there's no other way to put it! I love 'em!
It's hard to believe it's already January and Tim goes back to work on Monday. I think we will ALL miss hime more than he realizes. The kids are really loving life with two parents around all day and night. It's been such a blessing having him home and being together everyday. Come Monday, it's back to reality! Happy New Year!
