Happy Easter...a little late!

Tim turned 32!
For some odd reason, Tim said, "I want a carrot cake for my birthday!", so the kids and I (of course mostly me) made him a homemade Aunt Kay carrot cake! My Aunt Kay (great aunt) owned a restaurant and they were known, at least that's what I've always been told, for her special carrot cake. Well, my aunt passed away when I was only 8 years old and the secret recipe has been passed down. It was the first time I've made it and let me tell you, we all understand why all the hype! It was awesome! It's funny, I'd love to share it but it's one of those things that I just don't think it's right, so the recipe will remain a secret, but man is it good!
Back to Tim, he worked over 80 hours last week and will do the same this week, so it's been pretty hectic for everyone, (maybe that's why I'm blogging at 8, kids have been down since 7:30). Hey, when it's been a long day, everyone's tired :) Wednesday, March 10, 2010
Mackie's 4 years old!
This is right after she got her fish, she was so excited!
Mackie wanted a princess party with a Candyland cake! Well, we had all the cousins
scheduled to come on Friday and Jackson and Cole woke up with fevers. I think it was just the end of their cold and seemed to be just fine afterwards, but we felt it necessary to cancel the party. We rescheduled it for Sunday, but ended up only having my brother's family and my cousin Jodi and her family. The kids helped make the cake and although it's certainly not professional looking, I thought it came out perfect.
We are so proud of our little girl. It's pretty hard to believe she's 4 years old already. She's such a smart kid and has a memory like no other. Ahh, the love you have for your kids, it's pretty much unbelievable. Happy birthday to our little Mack, we love you soo much!

Florida vacation!
Cole's first dip in the water, and he liked it more than Jackson ever has!
My mom and her little princess. She holds a special place with my mom since she's the oldest and the only girl of 8 grandkids.
We had a great trip. My parents were so helpful and so generous, made for a such a great break in the dead of winter. My Dad watched the kids each morning, so my mom and I could go on a nice walk, he really does amaze me on how easy it is for him to watch the kids. I'm so glad that Tim was able to come for a few days, it was a much needed break for him as well.

3 kids alone on a delayed airplane for 2 hours!
We made it to Florida safely and without any major problems and I truly thank God for that. Tim wasn't allowed to come to the gate with us, but I was fine with that. We got on the plane and got all set up and everyone was doing great. Then it got ridiculously hot and we weren't moving. Cole was trying to settle in and fall asleep, but was struggling. Thankfully he took a 20 minute nap on me to recharge. We got in the air 2 hours after we first stepped foot on the plane. Once we were in the air, it was smooth sailing from there, literally :) Mackenzie and Jackson were soooo sooo good, couldn't have been prouder. A lady saw me walk on and told me what a great family I had, turns out she was in first class and sent back two bags of chips and 2 brownies for the kids, how sweet is that? I'll get pictures soon!
Today consisted of a walk, swimming, splash park, swimming, running, walk and 75 degree day---the only thing that could've made this day better is if my hubby was here--we miss him :(

Healthy again...finally!
I have so many updates, since it's been a few weeks! We've been sick and I was the first to get it. Lots of throwing up (about 10 straight hours), and lots of extra loving to give around here. Tim and I had the adult version of the Rotovirus and Mackenzie got the Rotovirus. Thank God for vaccines, because the boys were immune and thus are healthy!
Cole is not only crawling now (the cutest thing you have ever seen), he's now standing up on his own as he did in this picture. The other two decided to join! They're checking out all the snow we finally got! We've been waiting too long for it.
Gramma Fox turned 97 years old on January 30th. Cousin JoAnn threw her a party at their house and had an amazing 19 out of 22 Great-Grandkids there. Crazy...can you tell? Happy Birthday Gramma, you're simply amazing to put it lightly!
Tim and I went out and found a sport we can actually compete at...BOWLING! As most know, we have an Olympic bowler in the family....Aunt Kathy, and my Mom and Dad have won their share in bowling too. Turns out that I didn't get the gene! Too bad for me, but fortunate for Tim, he beat me in the 10th frame of the third game! It's good to give his morale a boost. It was just nice to get out for a bit with just him. He's been averaging 80 hours a week at work. Feast or famine, right? We miss him:(
