More fun in the sun!

It was a gorgeous weekend! We spent Saturday at Monique's birthday, Sunday at a family picnic and even got to bbq with the neighbors tonight. The kids are exhausted, the parents are exhausted, so we'll watch the rest of the Wings game and go to sleep (hopefully for the entire night :)

The Ladies Man

Monique turned five this weekend so we went to her Pizza Party, they made pizza's! Jackson was a big hit!

Babysitter

So today Tim and I went to the Tiger's Game alone! It was fantastic! We had one of my soccer girls babysit. She came at 6:30, and she never even saw Jackson. He's crazy right now, he's been going to sleep at night at 6pm. Obviously, he's hit a growth spurt. He slept 13 hours last night. Mackenzie was in her heaven--getting every ounce of the babysitter's attention. She even went right straight to bed (2 nights in a row). She never even got out of her bed once!! Life is good!!!! Who would have ever thought you could appreciate such little things in life? Here's a picture of Jackson, since the sitter didn't get to see him!

Little Mommy

Mackie is really into her babies right now. Every time we go to Luana's (her friend) house, she gets so excited to play with ALL of her babies! She'll make such a great mommy one day, now all I have to do is have her listen to her mommy then I'd be all set.

Cousin Griff

Griffin and Colleen spent the afternoon with us. Apparently he's much like his older cousin Mack with his sleep, but he's just as happy as her too!

This picture is trimed and I think I had my focus on the wrong target, so it's not very clear.

Did someone call a plumber?

Our next door neighbor called last night looking for a good plumber. Little did we know we had one right in our own house!

Stubborn Mackie

She sure is cute, but man oh man is she a stubborn little girl. Apparently, she's like me, and I am so sorry mom! This girl is wearing me out. Mackenzie stopped taking naps now that she's in her big girl bed, but she's not ready at all to be giving them up. At night she won't stay in her bed to go down, so we decided to follow a method similar to The Supernanny. We put her in her bed every time she got out, no words, no smiles, just back in bed. Nobody seems to guess right on the number of times she got out. 150...yes, that's right, 150. She caved though and we did win the battle. It took one hour 15 minutes. The second night she got out 60 times, and it took one hour 10 minutes. A long story short, we now shut our gate and she cries on top of the stairs and seems to go down way easier. It only took 3 times going up there last night and about 10 minutes. Thank you God for giving Jackson the ability to be a good sleeper. Thankfully, once in bed, both kids basically sleep all night!

Happy Mother's Day Moms!

Happy Mother's Day! Yesterday was a special day, Mackie and I went to our first shower together or as Mackenzie calls it "a girl's party!" It was a fun day and gave Tim a little time to get part of a fence built.
Today we went to church and then had brunch at our house. We even made it to the flower sale in the pouring rain. It's hard to believe this is already my third Mother's Day. Time goes too fast, but I love every minute of it. God has really blessed our family and we feel very fortunate and are thankful every day! I love my two munchkins! I love my husband too! Thanks Tim for always loving me and giving me "me time".
Thanks Mom and Mom Sandy for being such great Mom's and Grandma's! Happy Mother's Day! We love you!

Best of and Worst of the park

Here it is, the top five list of the best and worst of the park!

BEST...
1. Mackie can actually run around the play structure and I don't have to be an inch behind her.
2. Mackenzie actually likes the swing now.
3.There's always at least one interesting character at the park.
4. Every step Mackenzie takes, I think she gets a little bit sleepier.
5. The park is right down the street from me.
WORST...
1. Every time you go down the slide, you get zapped! Ouch!
2. Every time I set Jackson down, he tries to eat woodchips.
3. I have to hold Jackson the entire time unless he's swinging in which Mack has to be swinging too.
4. Some children aren't watched by their parents...in the incident where little boy "M" chucked a large truck into Mackenzie's head on the stairway up. (Thank the Lord Mack has good balance)
5. I just don't do underdog's like daddy.

Action Jackson

Jackson's such a good boy and so easy going. He's used to the fact that his sister will always demand more attention than he will.
He's pushing Mackenzie's desk chair around the house, so won't be too long before he's walking.

No Nap Nightmare!

So, no picture for this posting! Mackenzie hasn't been very consistent with her naps lately and I sort of feel, well, a little "OUT OF MY MIND" by the end of the day. So, today she was actually in her CRIB reading books, singing to Baby Ava, you know, the usual, and I'm cleaning up downstairs and I hear silence! I think to myself, yes, we have made it one more day WITH a nap, and then I hear the gate go "clink clink" and down walks Mackie right into the kitchen. Yup, she just casually climbed out of her crib, no thud or anything. She sees me and says, "mommy, I got out of my crib!" My response, "oh really, I didn't realize, I guess no nap today!" So you ask, why is she in her crib? I have no answer, apparently we think she's not ready for the big girl bed because she will get out to much but obviously it doesn't really matter where she sleeps. She's safely in her big girl bed sleeping soundly as I type!

Nap time for everyone

Here you have it...Tim's heaven, all he's missing is Jackson and I squeezed in next to him. Tim absolutely lives for these moments!

Just the two of us

I've been told my page is filled with Mack and Jackson pictures, but no Tim and Lisa pictures. I've made a goal now to take more pictures of the two and four of us together.

They're worth every difficult second!

Although days get tough and nights get tougher, when you watch a child sleep, there's a sense of repose or peace that fills your body and at that second you forget all the sleepless nights and all the crying. Sleeping children; there's just not much out there better than that!

Sibling togetherness!

Not sure what happened this morning, but both kids slept until 8:30. When Mack hear's baby Jack wake up, this is what I walk into. She gets herself in his crib and all he does is smile and laugh. What love! She also got herself in the high chair this morning. Not sure how she did it, but she hasn't been in it in weeks. Jackson can't seem to ever leave her alone. Wherever Mackie's at, Jackson's close by! He loves his sister!
